USATF National 5K Race Walk Championship, Kingsport, Tennessee

This is a 5 Km race walk USATF Certified course on a back and forth 1K loop on American Way street adjacent to the Quality Inn.
All race walkers must abide by the rules that govern race walking.
Participants will be judged by National Certified Judges. This is a Sanctioned USA Track and Field Event. Everyone must have a USATF Membership number.
Entry fee $25.00.
All entries must be post marked no later than September 21st.
Walk up registration October 2nd, 2 pm till 9 pm in Quality Inn Lobby
NO registration on race day!
Long sleeve T-shirts guaranteed to everyone pre-registered.
Refreshments provided after the race.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the "Friends In Need Health Center" of Kingsport.

World Class Race Walkers Dave McGovern and Ian Whatley will conduct a Race Walk Clinic at 4 PM on Friday, October 2nd. It will be held at the Quality Inn Motel. This is for beginners and the more experienced race walkers.
Ian and Dave will video the men's and women's races on Saturday and will be doing a video review afterwards. The mini-clinic participants will be included in the video review.
The cost is $30.00 per person. Please enclose your money with your entry fee.

Ceremony will begin at 10:45 am in the Quality Inn Ball Room
$100 prize money will be awarded to the TOP Open Male and Female finishers.
TOP 3 Masters Male and Female finishers will receive $50 each. If a Masters wins the Open they aren't eligible to receive the $50 Masters prize money.
TOP 6 Open Male and female finishers will receive National Championship Medals.
Masters age groups for Male and Females are: ( 30-34 35-39 40-44 45-49 50-54 55-59 60-64 65-69 70-74 75-79 80-84 85-89 ).
Each age group division will receive first, second, and third place medals.
The Overall Open Championship winners ( male and female ) could also receive an age group medal in the Masters Division.
Juniors Open ( male and female ) TOP 3 finishers will receive medals.

Friday October 2nd - Packet pick up and registration from 2pm till 9 pm in Quality Inn Lobby. After 9 pm packet pick up at the front desk in the motel lobby.
Also Friday October 2nd, 4:00 pm - Dave McGovern and Ian Whatley race walking clinic
Saturday, October 3rd.

- Women's Race at 8 AM
- Men's Race at 9:15 AM
- Awards Ceremony 10:45 AM
- Carter's Fold- Everyone meet in the Quality Inn Lobby at 5:45 PM for Instructions and maps. We will carpool to Carter's Fold
Sunday Morning October 4th- Meet in the Quality Inn Lobby at 7 AM for a walk on the Greenbelt with the Race Director. Breakfast to follow in the Quality Inn.
